Welcome to the Average 90s Gal Podcast. Join me as I share my own journeys through life, how I got and continue to get through them, as well as real stories from real people in this crazy world. Let's get through it together.
Hello and welcome to the show. So today I actually had a guest scheduled to record and unfortunately it had to be rescheduled. And because I am trying to be as consistent as possible with everything that I have decided to do with my life, I decided to just hop on, record something really quick.
None of this is planned. And I wanted to go with the very first thing that came to my mind. And the very first thing that came to my mind was, when was the last time... Dot, dot, dot.
So on a whim, I am just recording and whatever comes into my head comes into my head and we'll see how this goes. So I'm just going to start listing off. When was the last time you did this? Okay.
So when was the last time you saw a play, went to a museum, played on a playground, went to a fair or a carnival? When was the last time you went into a used bookstore, a library and checked out a book, a thrift store, a vintage shop? When was the last time you picked up a musical instrument, danced in the rain, stood in the rain with your arms out facing the sky? Jumped in a rain puddle, painted on a canvas or pottery, read an entire book of poetry, rode a horse, laughed uncontrollably? When was the last time you sat in complete silence, just listening to anything that is around you, the birds, cars driving by, the wind, but you sat in complete silence? When was the last time you really put your hands in soil and got dirty, planted a seed, walked barefoot on the dirt, on grass, on sand, went to see a movie in the middle of the day, tried something you've never done before, swam in the ocean or a river or a lake, watched the sunrise, watched an entire sunset, when was the last time you volunteered, when was the last time without being asked you helped a stranger in need, you unselfishly gave to another person, when was the last time you didn't look at your phone for more than an hour or put the GPS away or used your memory or instinct while driving or a map, when was the last time you used a map, when was the last time you got lost on purpose, said I love you, said I'm sorry, said I was wrong, when was the last time you really truly listened? And thank you for listening to this and my impromptu very short episode. I appreciate you. Thank you for being here.
And if any of these resonated with you, I hope you find a way to do them in the upcoming days and weeks and months and years. Don't let the last time be the last time. And we will talk soon.
Bye-bye.
