[00:00:00] Welcome to the average nineties GAL podcast. Join me as I share my own journeys through life, how I got and continue to get through them, as well as real stories from real people in this crazy world. Let's get through it together.
Hello Meredith Hare, and I am just hopping on really quickly today because today is Groundhog Day, February 2nd, which is such a funny little holiday, but tradition that we all seem to love, even though it is. Kind of strange that an animal sees its shadow or doesn't and decides whether there is more winter.
What a concept. [00:01:00] Anyway, I am hopping on because it made me think of course about the movie Groundhog Day, where he relives a day over and over and over again, and it made me think and. I'm just asking you to think as well, if you had to live a day over and over and over, do you already have that day in your mind?
Is it a day that has happened already, a day that is memorable for you, that you would love to live over and over and over again? Or has it not happened yet? Is it a day that is. In your dreams, in your imagination, of what your best day would be, and either way, what is it? If you haven't lived it out yet or you haven't even [00:02:00] thought about it yet, what would be your perfect day that you wouldn't mind living over and over and over again and write it out or think about it, dream about it.
Use your imagination. There are no limits. And then whether you've lived it already or not, if you are still looking to the past, a past day, a past life, or anything like that, what is it about that day that you loved so much? What is it that you can possibly bring into your everyday now, or if it is something that's in your imagination of what you dream would be your best day, how can you bring everything you're thinking about of that day into your daily life now?[00:03:00]
And perhaps you can't live that exact day every day, but how can you incorporate. What stands out to you into your daily life, and in the movie, he's able to go through each day and make changes that fits what he wants to happen, as if he's given a chance over and over and over again to make things right, to make changes.
So what could you do? In your day every day to make little changes to fit the day that you want to have. Because let's face it, at least for me, I don't wanna to live the same day over and over and over again. But of course, there are specific parts of a day that would just make every day wonderful. [00:04:00] And for me, that is just living through the day with little joy, little moments of joy and pockets of movement and fun and my imagination.
And that could look different every single day, but as long as that shows up for me, that is a wonderful day. A day that I can connect with other people and connect with my kid and make him laugh and bring joy to our lives. That's a win. It doesn't matter how that happens, but if that can happen every day, then that is a wonderful day.
So what is that for you? I just ask you to think about that. Think about what? Your perfect day [00:05:00] is, and maybe we start with creating our perfect day once a month, and then make it once a week, and then how can we bring what makes a day perfect for us just a little bit at a time every single day. So today on Groundhog Day and on any day after that, no matter when you hear this.
I hope you can think about this and start to make every day closer to your perfect day as possible. And that's it. So I hope you are having a wonderful day, no matter how perfect it is for you, and I will see you in the next episode.
